Position Summary:
AVE EAST MKTG, a MARB MKTG company, is looking for a publicist who has experience strategizing, creating, managing, and executing PR plans for a roster of music and public figure clients. In the always changing fast paced field of media, this individual understands traditional press goals but loves chasing and experimenting with innovative and progressive ways of connecting consumers with consumption in unique editorial ways with an emphasis on social, commerce, email, video and online coverage. The ability to be organized and creative is key in this role. Candidates who are solution oriented, enjoy ideating, write well, are confident in their client and media knowledge are a good fit. This position reports to the Director of Publicity, Caitlin Blackford. We prioritize collaboration and are mindful of the importance of nuance in communication with team members. We are looking for dedicated, detail oriented media professionals to join our team and support our expanding roster.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage multiple clients/projects simultaneously
Strategizing and creating launch timelines/press plans around releases, tours, sponsorships, product, etc.
Targeting appropriate outlets, crafting pitches, scheduling, and attending interviews with press
Pitching, securing and completing local/tour/event PR wins, national PR wins, niche industry wins, country core wins, industry + Nashville specific wins
Pitching and delivering influencer gifting
Securing non-traditional platform coverage with outlets (social, email marketing, subscribers network, etc)
Researching new outlets, contacts and opportunities
Planning, drafting and overseeing distribution of media alerts and press releases
Ideating and creating feature angles and coverage opportunities
Utilize Cision, Meltwater, Muck Rack, Critical Mention & LinkedIn
Coordinating client communication and education including regular and as needed meeting & call agendas and post-meeting/calls wrap emails
Preparing for, attending, participating in and executing on action steps from meetings with multiple categories of team members
Monitoring and staying ahead of industry trends
Maintaining invite lists and managing guest lists for client events
Covering events, interviews, and performances
Keeping assets organized and easily accessible
Qualifications, Skills and Education Requirements:
3-5 years’ experience in PR or Marketing
Knowledge of the music industry landscape
An understanding of and experience working with public figures
Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively
Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced, 24/7 environment
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong, appropriate follow-up skills
An understanding when to ask for help when something may escalate or with brainstorming ideas
Proven track record of securing media coverage for clients (preferred but not required)
Relationships with music journalists and media outlets (preferred but not required)
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
